Students meet Developers: Digital Univ Forum on Air
To commemorate the 90th Foundation Anniversary of Northwestern University (NWU), the University Radio conducted a special segment on February 18, 2022, with the theme, “The Digital University: Education in your Hands.”
Prof. Karl Lenin C. Benigno, Vice President of Administration, and Rashed Daniel Reyes, Office of Student Affairs Staff were the anchors of U-Radio who ensured the flow of the segment together with Mr. Christopher Viloria, Director of Center for Information and Communication Technology; Atty. Robert August Camarillo, Legal Officer of NWU; Ivy Karla Grande, SSC President; and Jezreel Larry Caunca, Editor-in-Chief of The Review Publication.
The special segment is divided into parts. First, they talked about the development of the school systems. According to Mr. Cristopher Viloria, the systems used by NWU are homegrown except for the Canvas learning management system.
The two student representatives talked about the concern of the students regarding their experiences in utilizing the different systems of NWU. Ivy Karla Grande shared her personal experience in accessing the said systems. She also said that the newly upgraded system was much easier to maneuver than the old ones. Jezreel Larry Caunca, on the other hand, revealed his encounters and point of view regarding the concerns of online transactions and inputs on possible updates that will be beneficial for students.
Lastly, the anchors were discussing the updates for the upcoming activities of NWU. The said special segment is conducted in order to address the timely issues relating to the utilization of technology in education.
The 90th Foundation Anniversary celebration of NWU will last until April 2022.
