Daphney Tabigne, a representative from CAHS, won the Essay Writing Contest and Kathleen Joy Bautista from COBE bagged first runner-up.
“As a beginner, I think the best advice I can give them is to have the confidence to take the challenge. Specifically, believing in [themselves] as I think they can have the confidence to write on specific topics when having these traits,” said Daphney Tabigne, the winner of essay writing.
Alvin Bartolome, the champion in Editorial Cartooning, “Editorial Cartooning is where it can be used as a tool and voice on an issue or topic through an artwork. The essence of becoming a champion in editorial cartooning is not merely the title itself. It’s not only about triumphant in a contest or to be the best of all your opponents.”
“As one of the editorial cartoonists worldwide, my insights of being a champion is when you finished the piece— for it is to address the message behind and utter clarification to the viewers about the topic. Nevertheless, we all have different views and meanings in the art, but the cartoonist knew exactly what once drawn,” Bartolome concluded.
