Rumor Has It – Adele

A guilty pleasure perhaps, but somehow doesn’t make you guilty at all. Tongue may appear as a small muscle and seem to be harmless, and you can somehow use it in any means that you want to. You are using it the wrong way. When did ever tongue became a weapon to slander someone? It may be a small feeble like muscle, but it can wound someone deeply.

Rumors may be just gibberish words passed from one person to another; but it can actually destroy someone’s dreams, enthusiasm or even life. Knowledge can be a great form of power, but using that knowledge to create damaging comments or details about others whether it is true or not, is a misuse of the power yielded in a form of knowledge.

Creating such ruckus—leaking someone’s unfortunate situation that would likely cause harm to someone’s reputation is not so humane to do. First things first, you don’t have the privilege to use any of your position or whatever upbringing you have just to talk ill about someone. If that person has really nothing to do with you, why bother make him look bad to other people. Secondly, why talk things you shouldn’t be involved and why drag people in just to taint someone’s reputation. Last, you are expected to somehow help to die down the issue but you yourself makes the issue a big deal.

Gossiping painful and embarrassing experiences of someone may bring you somehow guilty pleasure, but it brings them prejudices, sadness, disappointment, embarrassment and frustration as well.
