The Philippine Nursing Students Association-NWU Chapter from the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) spearheaded a Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE) Send-Off Program for the November 2024 PNLE takers with the theme “RAGPAT: To Achieve and Fulfill” on October 11 at the university Worship Center. The event aimed to motivate and inspire the nursing board takers as they prepare for the upcoming licensure exam.

In his welcome address, Prof. Harvey B. Ganal, the Associate Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) highlighted that they are meant to achieve their goals when they enter college. “As your former instructor in Leadership and Management, I have always emphasized that while knowledge is essential, your character truly sets you upon. When you pursue a goal, do so with your heart armed with dedication and commitment,” he encouraged.

Meanwhile, Rev. Richard T. Santiago, Associate & Youth Pastor of Jesus is Alive Assembly Laoag Assembly of God, shared the words of declaration and prayer, emphasizing the event’s theme, “RAGPAT.” “First thing is, R, to recognize that God is the source of what you need,” he said. “We are so grateful because we have professors, we have instructors, but I want you to understand this: they are only the instruments of God, but God is the source of everything you need in your life,” he remarked.

“Number two, Abounding Grace. When the moment that you do not know, the grace of God is so powerful to be at this time. Number three is God’s Abundant Power. You need to recognize the power of God that is working within you. Third, to the last, Pray without doubts. There is an assurance when you pray. When you pray without doubt, you must act and live by faith. Lastly, Trust in the Lord,” he further explained. Rev. Richard ended his speech by anointing oil, blessing, and praying to the board takers.

Ms. Daphney Tabigne, president of the PNSA-NWU Chapter, shared her message and encouragement with them. “Remember, you have the knowledge, the skills, and the passion to succeed,” she said.

The event also featured motivational and inspirational messages from distinguished speakers on the nursing journey of board takers led by the Head of the Department of Nursing, Prof. Imelda M. Dawang, and Dr. Roseli T. Aurelio, Head of the college internationalization program. Prof. Wiljohn Dela Cruz, the Level 2 Chairman, and Prof. Leofel Fernandez, the Level 4 Chairman, also shared a heartfelt message of determination.

Dr. Charliemane A. Bullalayao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, also gave his blessings and words of challenge to the board takers for the NLE. “Your four years of this university, my dear nurses, [hindi na] future nurses, my dear colleagues, has already prepared you for the battle this coming November,” he said.

Additionally, Ms. Nyssa Faye Socias, Batch 2024 Cum Laude, accepted the challenge on behalf of her batch mates.

Prof. Shiela Navasca, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy, concluded the inspirational messages, “Before you take the exam, you have to be calm and confident, sleep early, and wake up early. Have sufficient time to exercise,” she said.

Following this, the PNSA officers and professors distributed examination kits as gifts. They showcased a video presentation created by nursing students from various levels to inspire confidence among those taking the board exams. Representing Mr. Joseph Vallejos, the PNSA Adviser, Essara Ali, the PNSA Treasurer, wrapped up the event with closing remarks.

The NLE drive left the Batch 2024 nursing students feeling empowered, inspired, and ready to tackle the challenges ahead.
