NWU Honors 200 Outstanding Students
February 4, 2025– Northwestern University honored and recognized the academic achievers during the Recognition Program for Academic Year 2024-2025 at the Aquino Multi-Purpose Center. 200 academic scholars along with their proud parents and faculty members gathered at the momentous event.
Among the distinguished attendees were deans from various colleges, including Dr. Charliemane A. Bullalayao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who delivered an inspiring welcome address.
“Today, as we celebrate your achievement, know that this recognition is just the beginning. The values you have embraced—excellence, integrity, involvement, resourcefulness, professionalism, and service—will continue to shape your path forward. You have all proven that with hard work and dedication, the possibilities are limitless. And the future belongs to those who remain steadfast in the pursuit of rank, both as scholars and as individuals,” Dr. Bullalayao remarked.
The scholars were recognized based on their academic standing, with the Special Recognition for the Top 10 Highest General Weighted Average (GWA). Leading the roster was Alanna Ysabel Paguirigan, a second-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student.
In an interview, Paguirigan shared “Don’t chase achievements; instead, focus on learning, growing, and finding joy in the process. Success will follow naturally when you are driven by curiosity and purpose rather than the pressure of expectations.”
Northwestern University continues to uphold its commitment to academic excellence, shaping students to become future leaders who will make excellent contributions to society.
