NWU conducts Testimonial Programfor MLTE topnotcher, passers

April 19, 2022 – The College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS), through the Department of Medical Technology of Northwestern University (NWU), organized a Motorcade and Testimonial Program for January and March 2022 Medical Technology Licensure Examination Passers.

“I consider it as a legacy, hence, the joy in my heart will always be there, and I know we share the same idea. Having a topnotcher is actually an overwhelming accomplishment of the University, but it does not make us or it does not make you less if you are not a topnotcher. We are equally happy to see you pass MTLE, you make Northwestern University very proud,” said Prof. Gregoria S. Najorda, Dean of CAHS, in her opening remarks.

“The trials, the challenges have finally paid off.  We are here to celebrate in a festive mood. This day is the right time to look back, and give honors to those who in one way or the other make you successful.  It could be your fear, BFF, friend, classmate, and most especially to Almighty God. Let us bring back all the honors to the God Almighty for this success,” as stated in the message of Dr. Chita A. Gonzales, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The passers, including the topnotcher, delivered a testimonial speech during the event.

“After surpassing all those problems, trials, and challenges; though it took me another extra year to finish it, at last, I received my diploma in Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, luckily, I passed the board exam. I am now a certified Medical Technologist! Thank you Northwestern University, you thickened my wings to soar high, to reach my goal,” said Franchette Pedro, RMT, one of the passers.

Then, the topnotcher (Top 7), Cindy Mae Utleg, RMT, delivered her speech.

“If you fall, have the courage to get back up. Be resilient. Yang struggle, never yan nawawala. Kahit mahirap, you need to push yourself hard enough to make that first step para makabangon ulit. Sabi nga nila a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Kahit nagfail ka, it doesn’t mean you are a failure, you simply didn’t make it on the first try. I learned it the hard way pero worth it naman. There is always merit in trying. Because trying in itself is a courageous act. At kung kailangan magstart over, then do it, “said Cindy Mae Utleg, RMT.

The topnotcher also added “Always believe and have faith in God. Sabi sa verse ng Luke 1:37 Nothing is impossible with God. And that is very true. Yan yung verse na nakadikit sa wall ko. Maniwala ka that He’s always be there to carry you through all the struggles and hardships you are going to face. Believe me when I say, prayer is your best weapon. Kasi yun talaga. In my own experience, never ko to nalagpasan without asking for God’s guidance. I always ask that he provide me the strength, the knowledge and wisdom that I needed.”

The topnotcher ended her speech by stating “To the students, believe na kaya ninyo. Just do your best. Believe in yourselves and have faith in God.”

The Acting Dean of the Student Affairs, Prof. Agustina A. Dancel-Matias, and University President Atty. Ferdinand S. Nicolas also delivered congratulatory messages to the topnotcher, passers, and the CAHS.
