“Commitment to Excellence”: NWU announces more than 300 Acad Scholars
Registrar’s Office of Northwestern University (NWU) released the list of Academic Scholars for the Second Semester, AY 2021-2022, on April 26, 2022. There are two (2) University scholars and 368 students for the College Scholars who were able to qualify in the said distinctions.
“The fulfillment hits different because I never thought that I’ll be at the top of the list. The semester was one of the toughest, knowing that my classmates and I should undergo prerequisites like oral exams or tough timed writing. It was indeed a rainbow after the storm, but I have to take heed that this is not yet the trophy but only an advantage,” said Pamela V. Tadeja, a University Scholar.
“As a consistent academic scholar since first-year college, it is a humbling experience. All of these are bonuses for our hard work and sacrifices. However, with or without this recognition, it will not diminish our efforts to achieve our dreams,” Jezreel Larry R. Caunca, a University Scholar, stated.
“To all students of Northwestern University, we all deserve hugs and compliments for making it through despite the challenges we face every day,” Caunca added.
“I cannot recall how many breakdowns I must undergo. It was really hard, considering that there are countless pressures and expectations that I need to go beyond. However, seeing my name included in the list, I am beyond blessed and thankful to be able to reap the fruit of my labor,” said Ziantal Samantha B. Lorenzo, a College Scholar.
Moreover, Frances Kyle T. Lapitan, also one of the College Scholars, expressed her thoughts and gratitude.
“I did not expect to get an academic scholarship at all, but I’m truly grateful to God for giving me such an unexpected blessing. It was also fulfilling to achieve such an achievement. It felt like all of the breakdowns, pressures, and sleepless nights paid off,” Lapitan said.
According to the Registrar’s Office, their office may still release an addendum to the initial list of Academic Scholars.
