CCJE studs join BFP Fire Prevention Month exhibit

In celebration of fire prevention month, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) launched the 1st Berong’s Corner Fire Exhibit with the theme “Pag-iwas sa sunog, Hindi ka nag-iisa” at  Robinsons Place Ilocos on March 14-19, 2022.

The event was attended by 85 On-the-Job Training students and faculty members of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE).

“This event primarily encouraged us to appreciate the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Fire Prevention Month. Add to that, it is only a starting line and an additional experience for intern students like us. Who knows, maybe some of us will pursue this profession. And one thing is certain. A leader is someone who seeks, learns, and show others what is possible,” said Kween Charlette Velasco, one of the participants of the event.

The exhibit was divided into four sections: the BFP uniforms, the firefighting tools and equipment, the rope rescue techniques, and the emergency medical services. Moreover, the processing and releasing of Fire Safety Inspection Certificates and Fire Safety Evaluation Clearance were conducted during the event.

“This is in support for the Fire Prevention Month. They were given fire safety awareness and provided some training skills in firefighting and oriented on the firefighting equipment and materials. The students secured their parent’s consent and observed the protocols, and accompanied by the intern supervisor,” said Dr. Jonah B. Badua, Dean of CCJE.
