CAHS conducts Virtual Orientation Program for AY 2021-2022
A total of 558 participants from the different departments of CAHS have attended a virtual orientation program on Oct 07, 2021, via Zoom Videoconferencing App. The event was hosted by Ms. Almay Minka R. Gamayon and Ms. Myra Michelle Guzman, both clinical instructors from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Department of Nursing respectively.
Mrs. Judith Rivera, an instructor from the Physical Therapy Department formally started the program with a prayer and was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, ASEAN Hymn, and Northwestern University Hymn via audiovisual presentation. Prof. Gregoria S. Najorda, Dean of the said college, greeted everyone with a heartwarming and inspiring welcome address. She also emphasized the essence of motivation and commitment.
“We may be in a different level, but we are in the same platform… Let us all then work together for that dream,” Prof. Najorda said.
CAHS’ frontlines were also introduced in the succeeding part of the program. Prof. Shiela B. Navasca, Prof. Imelda M. Dawang, and Ms. Almay Minka R. Gamayon have presented the faculty and staff of the Department of Physical Therapy, Department of Nursing, and Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences consecutively.
“The college envisions itself to be a provider of a highly competent and skilled healthcare professionals… It is our mission to develop you to become skilled, responsible, committed, ethical, and scientifically competent healthcare individuals capable of making a mark not only locally but in the global arena as well,” said Prof. Navasca, as she presented the college’s mission, vision, and objectives.
Offered services from the different key offices of the university were presented at the latter part of the event. Ms. Cynthia C. Medrano discussed the services of Office of the Registrar; Ms. Stephanie Marie P. Valiente for the Guidance Center; Prof. Josephine G. Bolusan for the Finance Office; Mrs. Nora V. Clemente for the Educational Resource Center; and Prof. Agustina A. Dancel-Matias for the Office of Student Affairs.
“Find value in yourselves that you can make something great even amid this pandemic,” said Prof. Dancel-Matias as she offers her words of wisdom and encouragement.
Dr. Eric C. Parilla, Vice President for RCEIAD and the last speaker for the virtual orientation, highlighted the importance of research and extensions in making Northwestern University thrive amidst different challenges.
