Perlego and Gale OneFile: New Databases for Northwesternians

In collaboration with C&E Adaptive Learning Solutions , Northwestern University (NWU) has acquired two new digital resources, Perlego, an ebook database, and Gale OneFile: Custom, an eJournal database on September 6, at the NWU Educational Resource Center (ERC) Multimedia room. It ensures optimal use of these new digital resources by the university community.

C&E Adaptive Learning Solutions spearheaded an orientaion and training program which focused on the features and usage of Perlego and Gale OneFile: Custom. Representatives from different college in the university attended the said program.

Perlego is a digital online library that focuses on delivering academic, professional, and non-fiction eBooks. It offers unlimited access to a broad array of texts for the duration of the user’s subscription. Perlego is accessible via its website and app.

Gale OneFile: Custom, on the other hand, offers 24,000 journals along with books, videos, magazines, and news articles from various sources and leading journals worldwide. It has advanced features such as article translation into over 20 languages, Readspeaker technology for text-to-speech capability, collaboration tools for sharing and saving content, and a mobile-responsive design for accessibility on a range of devices.

Additionally, the platform provides citation tools for easy import of formatted citations in MLA, APA, and Chicago-style formats. While Gale OneFile: Custom does not have a mobile app, it can be accessed through its website.
